About the Program>Schedule

The topics for the ITQ/TOPPS summer institutes are given in a consistent, logical curriculum consisting of the following sequence:

• Summer 2007 - Motion and Force
• Summer 2008 - Energy and Momentum
• Summer 2009 - Electricity
• Summer 2010 - Waves, Sound, and Optics
• Summer 2011 - Magnetism
• Summer 2012 - Kinematics

The sixth summer institute is being planned for June 24-29, 2012 at FSU. Check-in will be at 1:00PM on Sunday, June 24, with pre-workshop testing until 4:30PM, followed by dinner and an evening workshop.

A typical day during the summer institute will include workshops from 8:30AM to 4:00PM. Participants will also be required to spend two hours each evening (Monday through Friday) engaging in mentoring and educational activities. To view the 2011 schedule in pdf format, click here.

In addition to the summer institute, teachers will be required to participate in follow-up sessions (online and one in person at one of the LEA sites in Fall 2012).
