The University operates on a rolling admission basis. The University may have to close admissions when no further space for students is available. Consequently, applicants from high school should apply in the fall or early winter of the senior year. Beginning on September 15, the admissions office will start accepting applications for the fall semester of the following year.
Admission for the spring semester is granted on a space-available basis. Applications will be considered if received no later than December 1 for the subsequent spring semester. The University does accept applications from first-year students who would like to begin in the spring semester.
Early or Regular Decision Considerations:
Early Decision is the best option if you are a high school senior and you are certain that FSU is the institution you would like to attend. In this case, you should apply by December 15. If you are admitted to FSU under this option, you will need to withdraw all other college applications and pay a non-refundable $150 tuition deposit by February 1. If Financial Aid will be a factor in your decision to attend FSU, you should NOTapply early decision.
Regular Decision applicants are encouraged to apply by February 15. Applications received after that date will be considered on a space-available basis.
Transfer Student Deadlines
Students who attended post-secondary institutions after graduating from high school are considered transfer students.
Applicants for the Fall semester should apply as soon as possible and are encouraged to apply by June 1 prior to the semester start in order to take full advantage of orientation programs. Applications received after that date will be considered on a space-available basis.
Applicants for the Spring semester should apply as early as possible and are encouraged to apply by December 1 prior to the semester start. Applications received after that date will be considered on a space-available basis.
