International Students

Frostburg is a welcoming and picturesque example of small-town America, but we’re also conveniently close to major cities like Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. You’ll find plenty to do on campus, from cultural festivals with our many international groups to late-night parties and social events that bring out the whole student body. Our students are famous for being friendly, and are eager to meet you and learn about your culture.

Applying to Frostburg State as an international student

We strongly recommend international students apply for the fall semester by June 1 and spring semester by October 15, which allows time for us to process your application and for you to obtain a student visa and make travel arrangements.

International applicants to Frostburg State follow the same application process as domestic students. The university also requires English translations, if applicable, for academic records and recommendations.

English language proficiency

After submitting their Common App or Online Application, students whose first language is not English must submit an English language exam score to the university via the testing agency. Enrolling students will confirm their testing with official score reports.
