Freshmen Applicants
There are two options for freshmen applicants to consider:

Early Decision is the best option if you are a high school senior and you are certain that FSU is the institution you would like to attend. You should apply by December 15, and if you are admitted to FSU under this option, you will need to withdraw all other college applications and pay a non-refundable $150 tuition deposit by February 15. If Financial Aid will be a factor in your decision to attend FSU, you should NOT apply early decision.

Regular Decision applicants are encouraged to apply by February 15. Applications
received after that date will be considered on a space-available basis.

Required application materials for all freshmen applicants:

1) Complete and submit the entire FSU Online Application for Admission.

2) Submit a check or money order along with the Application Fee Transmittal Form (Click here to print a version of the form) for the $30 non-refundable application fee. Click here to pay using electronic funds transfer or by credit or debit card. If you use a credit or debit card, you will be charged a convenience charge of $2 or $60, depending on which credit card you use.

3) Submit the Request for Academic Record (click here to print a version of the form). This form should be given to the guidance counselor or other appropriate official at your high school for completion.

4) Submit official high school transcripts. Students who have received a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) must forward their score report and an official high school transcript that indicates the last completed year in school.

5) Scholastic Aptitude Tests are required unless the freshman applicant graduated from high school a minimum of three years prior to their application to FSU. The SAT code for FSU is 5402. The ACT code for FSU is 1714.

6) If you plan to submit an optional essay, please send it as an email or as an attachment to an email to FSUadmissions@frostburg.edu. In the subject line, please include the statement "Application Essay". Be sure that your name and birthdate are included with the essay. For more information and a list of Acceptable topics, visit the Admission Essay Topics page.

Transfer Applicants
Students who attended post-secondary institutions after graduating from high school are considered transfer students. Applicants for the Fall semester should apply as soon as possible but no later than June 1 prior to the semester start. Applicants for the Spring semester should apply no later than December 1 prior to the semester start. Applications received after that date will be considered on a space-available basis.

Credits to be awarded for transfer are determined at the time of admission to Frostburg. Only college level courses completed at a regionally accredited institution will transfer provided the courses are similar in nature, content and scope to courses taught at FSU.
