Applying For Aid

In order to apply for federal grants, Maryland State Scholarships (if you and your parents are both Maryland residents), college work-study, and federal student and parent loans, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To be qualified for most of these programs, a student must have his or her FAFSA processed and to our office by our March 1st priority deadline. Please read the section of this website entitled "FAFSA" for more detailed information concerning Frostburg State University's priority deadline for financial aid.

Students admitted to the University will receive financial aid award packages after our office has received the results of their FAFSA. The financial aid office will mail a packet of information to admitted prospective students that will include the amount of financial aid being offered and instructions on how to accept the financial aid. These instructions will include information on how to utilize the financial aid website to complete the required steps to accept the awards. Our office begins to send financial aid packets out to prospective students in mid-March.

Returning students will receive financial aid packages in June, a few weeks after all student grades have been posted for the spring semester. Starting this year, all returning students will have their award notifications sent to them via their FSU email accounts. These notifications will instruct students on how to find out what financial aid they have been awarded, as well as instructions on how to utilize the financial aid website to complete the required steps to accept the awards. Please see the section of this website entitled "Eligibility" for more information concerning how we determine the amounts and types of financial aid a student is eligible to receive. To access the "FAFSA," "PIN," or "Eligibility"section of this website, please make a selection below.
