FSU Grants & Scholarships

Institutional aid is a form of financial assistance that is awarded to students by Frostburg State University. These programs are exclusively for FSU students. The different types of institutional aid offered by FSU are listed below. Students must meet satisfactory academic progress standards to receive these awards.

Frostburg FSU Grants - A Frostburg Grant is an award that comes directly from Frostburg State University. An FSU Grant is free money that does not need to be repaid. To qualify for an FSU Grant, students must have a significant amount of financial need as determined by FAFSA. To receive priority consideration for an FSU Grant, students must have their FAFSA processed by March 1.

The Financial Aid Office reviews all eligible applicants to determine the amount of FSU Grant money given to students each year. The amount will vary based on allocation of funds from the institution and the number of eligible applicants. Please note that students pursuing a second bachelors degree are not eligible for FSU Grant funds.

Institutional and Departmental Scholarships
– Frostburg State University offers a variety of institutional and departmental scholarships. The amounts of these awards vary, and each has its own set of requirements that a student must meet in order to be eligible.

The requirements for institutional and departmental scholarships may include one or more of the following: academic performance, financial need, specific curriculum requirements, etc. Students must complete the Institutional Scholarship Form, along with a one-page essay, and turn it in to the Financial Aid Office by March 1st in order to be considered for these awards. Departmental scholarships may require a separate application, and students wishing to apply for departmental scholarships should contact the department on campus offering the award.

If you are already a recipient of a renewable institutional scholarship, in order for that scholarship to be renewed, you must submit a new application each year.
