Loans - Stafford Loans (Subsidized / Unsubsidized)
Please keep in mind that students who are applying for a federal education loan for the first time must have a valid FSAID in order to sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) for that loan. For more information on how to obtain an FSAID, see the please see the FSAID Quick Reference Sheet. If you have accepted a Federal Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, you must complete both of the processes listed below.
Please use the following link to complete the required Federal Direct Stafford Loan Entrance Interview & Master Promissory Note (MPN):
*Please note that once on the page you must click on "Entrance Counseling" to begin. Once the counseling has been completed you will be prompted to continue on to the Master Promissory Note (MPN).
The Master Promissory Note is the loan application. By completing the MPN you are agreeing to repay the loan as well as agreeing to the terms and conditions of borrowing the loan. The Entrance Counseling Interview explains the eligibility criteria for the loan and the terms and conditions of accepting the loan, including when and how the loan must be repayed.
