External Scholarships
The following scholarships are administered by the agencies indicated.
AA-I Scholarship (sponsored by Alumni Assoc.,
Intl.)
Contact: Director of Financial Aid
Criteria:
*New students must have SAT of 1000 and 3.5
GPA. Transfers must have 3.25 GPA.
*Must be full-time and resident of Maryland.
*Interested applicants must submit a written statement with information
about interests, evidence of leadership, participation in community
and school activities, career goals, etc.
*Attached to this statement, applicants must also provide two letters
of reference (from teachers, counselors, professors, deans, etc.).
*Applicants should be sure to clearly identify statement submission
as application for AA-I Scholarship
*Must maintain a 3.25 GPA to remain in good standing for award year
selected.

Associated Italian American Charities of Maryland
#11 Scholarship
Contact: Financial Aid / 301.687.4301
Criteria: The recipient must be a U.S. citizen of documented Italian
heritage, carrying a minimum 2.6 grade point average. The recipient
will be required to attend an annual awards dinner. The scholarship
may be renewed.
Deadline: March 1
Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholarship
Criteria: Awards will be made to students who show exceptional promise
and intend to pursue a graduate degree full-time. Awards will be limited
to qualified college seniors from Virginia, Maryland and the District
of Columbia. The award will fund tuition and fees for the scholar's
graduate or professional degree, and will include a stipend based on
reasonable expenses and demonstrated need.

CSX Corporation Scholarship

Criteria: Dependent of a CSX employee.
Deadline: May 1
Lalitta Nash McKaig Foundation Scholarship
Criteria: The applicant must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate
student and a resident of Bedford or Somerset County, PA; Mineral or
Hampshire County, WV or Allegany or Garrett County, MD and have obtained
a high school education or equivalency thereof in any of these counties.
Need is a determining factor.

Sharon Christa McAuliffe Memorial Teacher Education
Scholarship Program*
Contact: State Scholarship Administration, 839 Bestgate Road, Suite

Criteria: Undergraduates who will have 60 credit hours and a 3.0 cumulative
GPA by the fall of the upcoming academic year.

Christa McAuliffe Scholarship Fund*
Contact: Scholarship Selection Committee, Christa McAuliffe Scholarship

Criteria: High school graduate enrolled in an accredited college or
university with an approved teacher education program. Full-time attendance
and a 3.0 GPA is required to renew this scholarship.
Deadline: March 1
*Special note: Recipients of awards have a mandatory
teaching obligation to the State of Maryland.
