Departmental Scholarships - Mathematics
Dr. & Mrs. Somashekhar V. Bellary Scholarship

Criteria: Applicants must be enrolled full time at FSU. The award will
be given to an incoming freshman from an Allegany County school who
is interested in mathematics. The Department of Mathematics' Scholarship
Committee may require additional information, essay, recommendations,
interview, etc.

Roscoe Bartlett Scholarship

Criteria: The recipient must be a full-time student with a declared
major in math/biology/chemistry/physics or engineering and a resident
of the Sixth Congressional District (Allegany, Carroll, Frederick, Garrett,
Howard, or Washington counties of Maryland). The applicant must have
an overall GPA of 3.0 or above and a 3.5 in the major. A preference
is given to renewal applicants. Demonstrated need may be a determining
factor.

CBIZ Math Scholarship

Criteria: Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student
with a 3.0 grade point average or above. Preference will be given to
outstanding Calculus students as determined by the Department of Mathematics'
Scholarship committee. The award may be renewable.

Excellence in Math Scholarship

Criteria: The recipient must be a senior mathematics major at the time
of receipt of the award with an FSU grade point average of 3.0 or above
and a departmental grade point average of 3.5 or above. Participation
in mathematics activities and future plans incorporating mathematics
will be considered.

Marlene Weimer Memorial Scholarly Endeavors Fund

Criteria: The purpose of this fund is to support scholarly endeavors
in the area of innovative faculty development initiatives and/or scholarship
support for outstanding mathematics students, dependent upon the area
of greatest need as determined by the Mathematics Department on an annual
basis.
