Frostburg State University recognizes the health problems associated with first- and second-hand smoke and wishes to provide the healthiest environment possible for our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors.
As one of the American Heart Association’s Fit Friendly Companies and as a member of the American College Health Association, we acknowledge that our position on being a smoke-free campus communicates our commitment to the well-being of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community.
To continue our momentum in becoming a leader for college health and wellness, Frostburg State University made the commitment to become a smoke-free campus on August 1, 2011. Further, the University System of Maryland implemented a system-wide policy banning smoking on system campuses starting June 30, 2013.
