FSU VP for Student Affairs Appointed to Board of Dr. Edna B. McKenzie Branch of the ASALH

artie travisFSU's Vice President for Student Affairs , Dr. Artie Travis, was recently appointed to the board of the Dr. Edna B. McKenzie Branch of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) located in Pittsburgh. He will serve as the VP for Corporate, Academic and Government Relations. 

Established in 2012, the Pittsburgh branch of ASALH is committed to fulfilling the mission of ASALH "to promote, research, preserve, interpret and disseminate information about Black life, history and culture." Dr. McKenzie, for whom the branch is named, was an accomplished pianist and the first Black woman to earn a doctorate in history at the University of Pittsburgh.
