CLAS Assessment Council

The CLAS Assessment Council was formed in fall 2007 to improve student learning assessment within the College, as recommended in the 2006 Middle States Evaluation Report. The Council‘s role is to provide College programs with guidance and feedback on establishing effective student learning assessment plans.

The focus over the last two years has been on helping programs establish workable student learning assessment plans. To meet this goal, the Council collected assessment plans, reviewed them using a standardized checklist, and met with program representatives to provide feedback.

Assessment plans are ranked according to the following categories:

box filled with color green ‘Green’ rating – Program has a student learning assessment plan that addresses all assessment categories

box filled with color yellow ‘ Yellow’ rating – Program has made progress in establishing an assessment plan that addresses most categories

box filled with color red ‘Red’ rating – Program’s assessment plan needs improvement
