Dixie Poe, RN, MSN, MGA, CFNP

Dixie Poe is an adjunct Professor in the Nursing department at Frostburg State University. She teaches online courses at FSU and other Maryland Colleges.  She seeks to make the online learning experience enjoyable and has taught in online environments for over 15 years.   She earned her bachelor’s in nursing at the Medical College of Georgia, and her Masters in Administration from University of Maryland and her Master’s as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Bowie State University.

Professor Poe has maintained her clinical skills working as a Nurse Practitioner at Calvert Memorial Hospital and Hospice of the Chesapeake.  She has had numerous employment experiences including CEO of a local hospice organization and System Vice President for a local healthcare system.  In additional to teaching at FSU, she is Director of Clinical Operations Southeast U.S. for a large US insurance company, specializing in gerontology.

Professor Poe hopes to support, mentor, and guide students through their online journey and support them as they transition into their new professional roles after graduation.
