FSU Scholarships & Grants

Frostburg State University offers institutional financial assistance programs that are available only to FSU students. Students must meet academic progress standards and be enrolled full-time (12+ credits for undergraduate or 9+ credits for graduate) to receive and keep their award, unless a scholarship states otherwise.

  • FSU Scholarships are offered to students based on criteria that vary with each scholarship, such as academic performance, curriculum, place of residence or financial need. They do not need to be repaid. The deadline to apply for FSU scholarships is March 1.

  • FSU Grants are awarded to students who demonstrate significant financial need on the FAFSA. The amount awarded can vary based on available funds and the number of eligible applicants. Grants do not need to be repaid. To receive priority consideration, students should have their FAFSA processed by March 1.

**The deadline to apply for all FSU scholarships is March 1 at 11:59 p.m. In order to apply, you must be admitted by February 15.

Explore FSU Academic Scholarships (for newly admitted students only):

  • Scholarship Information for New Students -Admitted students with a cumulative high school GPA of 3.2 will be automatically considered for Frostburg State's merit-based scholarship program.  

    In addition, Frostburg State has an application-based merit programs for eligible first year students:

    1. Academic Excellence Talent-in-the-Arts Scholarship
      This scholarship is awarded to students with demonstrated ability in theatre, music or visual arts. Students must provide appropriate materials--audition, portfolio, and/or interview to the sponsoring department.

      This scholarship is available for up to 8 semesters provided the student
      --maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
      --completes at least 24 credits per academic year
