Why Frostburg?
When I first received my tour of Frostburg State University as a potential student, I felt a connection to the university that I had failed to make with all other universities that I had visited. ... There was a certain pride in the air and in the way that everything on campus ran that just gave off a vibe that said “Yes, this is Frostburg and this is where I needed to be!”

Why Frostburg?
At first, I was interested in Frostburg for my academic major, but it was when I visited campus that I knew this was the school for me. I loved the community feel and the positive atmosphere here at Frostburg. I like how there are so many opportunities for students, so it’s very easy for someone to find their niche and where they feel like they truly belong.

Julia Burdette
Hometown: Middletown, MD
Major: Economics major with a concentration in Business; Management minor
Year: Junior
Extracurricular: Bobcat Ambassador, Alpha Sigma Alpha Social Chair
Why Frostburg?
I decided to come to Frostburg due to the student to teacher ratio that we have. After my first semester, I saw how much all the professors cared and I knew I had made the right choice. I love being in a class with few students so I have the opportunity to participate and ask questions in class. Also, when I toured campus I was amazed at how beautiful it was. It truly felt like home away from home.

Why Frostburg?
I originally chose Frostburg, because they have an amazing education program and the campus community seemed so welcoming. After staying for 4 years, I have only found more reasons to love the college. I have met great professors who show genuine care for their students and fell more in love with my major. I am excited for the next chapter of my life after graduating in December, but I am soaking up my last moments in Frostburg until then

I chose Frostburg because it was the one school I felt comfortable and happy at. While searching for my perfect school I wanted something small, diverse, and with a lot of campus involvement. So, when I came across Frostburg I just knew I had to be here. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s not too far from home.

Why Frostburg?
Being from Montgomery County, I knew that I wanted to stay in state so Frostburg was already one of the schools on my mind. I first visited Frostburg when I came here for a football camp before my senior year of high school. After touring the campus and meeting some of the faculty I knew that Frostburg was a place that wanted to be. Frostburg provided a quiet and safe environment where I could strive and really get to maximize my potential as a student and a leader. Once I officially became a Bobcat I couldn't have been more right!

I chose Frostburg because this university is, first and foremost, an incredibly genuine place to live and get an education. Frostburg has a dedicated, intelligent, and caring faculty that works tirelessly to ensure the highest level of success possible for students, both in the classroom and after graduation. This campus is an exciting place to be a proud Bobcat!

Why Frostburg?
I chose Frostburg because I wanted to get a little way away from home, yet still be in the state of Maryland, where I am from. Also, Frostburg has, which was my first intended major, athletic training. After I established that athletic training was not for me, I switched into the education field and I love it, and that is why I stayed!

Being the mountain loving person I am, I knew Frostburg would be the perfect fit for me. I felt at home the second I stepped onto campus and knew this would be the school I would attend. Another thing I loved about Frostburg is the fact that I would be a name, and not just a number to my professors. The professors really care about their students and only want them to do their best.

Brandon Tenney
Hometown: Cecil County, MD
Major: Political Science and Law & Society double major; Leadership Studies and Philosophy double minor
Year: Junior
Extracurricular: Phi Mu Delta, Resident Assistant, National Residence Hall Honorary
Why Frostburg?
I choose Frostburg because of the home small town feeling I am accustomed to. Frostburg home feeling brings strong sense of community both on and off campus. The professors and staff at Frostburg care about who you are and actually like to get to know more about you as a person rather than just another face in the crowd. To put it in prospective the head of the Law and society department saw that I was a bright student and knew that I could handle more then what I was doing. After, talking to him a few times during his office hours he convinced me to be a double major and a minor while still being able to graduate on time. He still today consistently checks up on me to make sure I am performing well and staying on schedule even though he is not my adviser he is still willing to help me out.
