Senior Year Checklist

We realize that your senior year is a very exciting time, but it also plays a crucial role in your future. This checklist has been produced by FSU Admissions to assist you and your family with the college admissions process. Specifically, it indicates important dates/deadlines for attending FSU but can be used as a guide for other colleges. We hope that you will find this checklist helpful throughout the year. Admission steps in senior year

Visit FSU - be sure to ask lots of questions
Register for the SAT - be sure to include FSU's code: 5402
Gather college applications
Complete applications
Request transcripts
Recommendation letters
October
Apply to FSU. Check with your guidance counselor to make sure proper documentation is being sent
Visit FSU if you have not done so already
Obtain an FSA ID for FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at www.fsaid.ed.gov
File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid with www.FAFSA.ed.gov

Early Action deadline is November 15
Attend an Open House
Submit updated SAT scores
December
Apply to FSU for Regular Decision
January
Submit FSU scholarship application
February
Your application should be complete by February 15 to be considered for academic scholarships
Receive Student Aid Report (SAR)
Complete any additional applications required by state or private aid programs
Make any necessary corrections to FAFSA
March
March 1 - FAFSA deadline/FSU scholarship deadline
Receive financial aid awards
April
Sign and return all necessary forms
May
Submit the $150 tuition deposit by May 1
Receive FSU orientation information once deposit is paid
Receive FSU Connections information once deposit is paid
June
Attend an FSU orientation session
July/August
Student bills for the Fall term can be accessed online
Payment for Fall term is due
Classes begin late August
