Teachers and Guidance Counselors

Teachers and guidance counselors provide the RMSC with valuable feedback by evaluating the academic performance of our current participants and by recommending new students into our program. The goal of the program is to help students throughout their entire high school career, and teachers and guidance counselors are critical pieces in helping the RMSC attain this goal.

Evaluating Current RMSC Students:

Quarterly Progress Reports- (New for 2017-18) RMSC students will complete quarterly self-evaluations on their academic performance using online surveys and online grades.  Students who appear to be struggling in a course will be placed in RMSC Academic Intervention where RMSC staff will work one-on-one with students to improve academic performance.

Recommending New Students:

Application Completion- Prospective RMSC students are often identified by teachers and guidance counselors.  RMSC Applications are available online or by mail.  RMSC staff are available to come to your school to speak to groups of interested students, parents, and teachers about the opportunities available for students in the RMSC program. Please contact the RMSC if you would like a school visit or copies of paper applications.
