Banda Magda

Banda Magda

Manicur Assembly Hall, Lane University Center

Led by vivacious Greek-born composer, singer and accordionist Magda Giannikou, Banda Magda captures the lush chic of vintage French pop, the golden age of Brazilian bossa nova and the best of cinematic arranging, all while drawing on the band’s rich global background. Dubbed “fresh and retro-hip cool” by KCRW, Banda Magda effortlessly moves from samba to chanson, from Greek folk tunes to Colombian cumbia and beyond.

WFWM Public Radio

CES joins forces with Frostburg State University’s own WFWM-FM to present the Offstage Series With WFWM. After select performances, WFWM station director Chuck Dicken joins the artists onstage for a lively interactive discussion with the audience.
