Graduate Admissions 

Admission Criteria

In addition to Frostburg State University's general graduate admission requirements, applicants to the Master of Science in Applied Computer Science program must have: 

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Science.
    A bachelor's degree and specified background courses determined by the department Graduate Committee.
  • An undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for full admission. GPA less than 3.0 may be admitted on documented proficiency. 
  • International Students Only: You must achieve a minimum score of 550 on the TOEFL paper exam or 213 on the computer-based TOEFL to be eligible for admission.

Admission to the program is determined by the Graduate Committee of the Department of Computer Science. See the Graduate Study Admissions page for further details.

In general, students must do the following: 

  • Complete an application for admission to graduate studies;
  • Submit official transcripts of all previous graduate work and a transcript certifying the completion of a baccalaureate degree;
  • International Students Only: Complete all steps described on the Graduate Study International Student Admission page.
