Habitat description: Open savannas and grasslands near permanent sources of water in Eastern and southern Africa.

Behavior/Diet: Herbivore. Eats grasses. They are extremely sociable often in herds of 2000 members. Extremley agressive and dangerous when cornered or injured.

Conservation Status: non-threatened. 

Fun Fact:

In the herd there are two hierarchies, one for each gender, much like wolves.
