Habitat description: desert-like flat lands. Lives in Russia, three areas of Kazakhstan (ural, ustiurt, and betpak-dala)

Behavior/Diet: Herbivore. Saiga form larger herds in semi desert areas. They avoid areas that steep or rugged.

Conservation Status: Critically endangered by poaching, their horns are used for Chinese traditional medicine.

Fun Fact:

Its large nose is thought to help with body temperature control, like jackrabbit ears.
