Acclaimed Author Joan Connor to visit FSU

Critically acclaimed author Joan Connor will visit Frostburg State University on Thursday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lane University Center Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall.

Connor is a recent winner of the Associated Writing Programs’ Short Fiction Award for her collection “History Lessons.” She is the author of two other collections of short fiction, “Here on Old Route 7” and “We Who Live Apart.” She has published hundreds of short stories and essays in various journals, including “Glimmer Train,” “The Gettysburg Review,” “Triquarterly,” “The Southern Review,” “Shenandoah” and others. She is a recipient of an Ohio Arts Council Individual Fellowship, the John Gilgun Award, the Ohio Writer Award in Fiction and Nonfiction, and writing fellowships from VCCA, the MacDowell Colony and Yaddo.
