‘All Aspects’ Art Exhibition Showcases FSU Seniors’ Talent

“All Aspects,” an exhibition featuring work by Frostburg State University seniors Amanda Demler, Brian Leiter, Erica Kempler, Kristina Lambert and Michelle Frost, will be on view from Saturday, May 2, through Wednesday, May 6, in the Stephanie Ann Roper Fine Arts Gallery. The general public is invited to an opening reception scheduled for Saturday, May 2, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Demler will graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in art and design on May 16, 2009. She has a focus on painting and works in oils, watercolors and gouache. Demler will be attending FSU’s graduate program for a master’s degree in teaching following graduation.

Leiter is scheduled to graduate in May with a B.F.A. in art and design, with a focus in graphic design. His work incorporates a variety of media such as posters, business cards, packaging, logos and animation. Much of his work reveals a clean, professional style within industry standards. Leiter is looking to pursue a part-time graphic design position upon graduation while residing in the Philadelphia area.

Kempler will graduate in May with a B.F.A. and a studio focus in both painting and ceramics. She generally works with high-fire clay bodies, utilizing a large range of firing techniques. Her acrylic paintings demonstrate a poster-like style on large-scale canvases. Kempler will be attending Indian University of Pennsylvania in the fall to continue developing her studio knowledge and work toward a Master in Fine Arts degree.

Lambert will graduate from FSU in May with a B.F.A. in art and design, with a studio focus in photography. Her photography depicts theater plays and texture on the skin. Following graduation, Lambert plans to pursue a career in theater photography and other photography opportunities.

Frost will graduate from FSU in May 2009 with a B.F.A. in art and design, with a focus in sculpture, jewelry and printmaking. She has created a unique style and utilizes wearable sculpture in the form of jewelry. Her printmaking style focuses on the technique of relief prints and the use of watercolors and textured papers. Frost will be attending FSU’s graduate program for a Master of Education degree in school counseling following graduation.

The Stephanie Ann Roper Gallery has free admission and is open to the public Sunday through Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. For more information about the exhibition, please contact FSU Department of Visual Arts at 301-687-4797.
