Baseball Heading to Bahamas in January

FROSTBURG, Md. — The Frostburg State University baseball team will be embarking on its first international trip in school history when it travels to Nassau, Bahamas in January.

The Bobcats will be competing against teams from the Bohemian Baseball Federation.

Frostburg State opens the international tournament Tuesday, January 25 when it takes on the defending champion TBS Truckers.

On Wednesday, January 26, the Bobcats will face the Delsol Sharks, last year’s Baseball Federation runners-up.

FSU will conclude its trip against the Federation All-Star Team Thursday, January 27.

"The players and staff are very excited about the opportunity to compete and represent Frostburg State internationally," said Bobcat Head Coach Chris McKnight. "We plan on trying to do this every four years and offer our players a unique experience during their collegiate careers."

Last year, Frostburg State finished 26-18 overall and won its third Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference tournament championship in school history.

The Bobcats open their official 2005 schedule February 12 with a doubleheader at Christopher Newport beginning at 1:00 pm.
