Baseball Players Ranked Among National Stat Leaders

FROSTBURG, MD — The Frostburg State baseball team has four players ranked among the leaders in the NCAA Division III national statistics, released Tuesday.

Sophomore John Micklus (La Plata, Md./McDonough) is 29th in the country with 10.6 strikeouts per nine innings, while senior Billye Hollister (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) currently ranks 50th in the nation with six victories and 76th in the country with a 1.98 earned run average.

Senior Kyle Mahan (Woodbridge, Va./Potomac) is ranked 42nd with 0.17 triples per game, and junior Chris Jones (Baltimore, Md./Towson) is ranked 39th in the nation with 1.32 runs per game.

As a team, the Bobcats rank fourth with 8.8 strikeouts per nine innings and 59th with a win-loss percentage of 0.667. They are also 72nd in doubles per game (2.03), 79th in triples per game (0.37) and 100th in batting average (0.316).

FSU returns to action on Saturday, April 29 as it travels to Catholic for a non-conference game beginning at 1:00 pm.
