Baseball Players Ranked Among NCAA Stat Leaders

FROSTBURG, Md. — The Frostburg State baseball team has three players ranked among the leaders in the NCAA Division III national statistics, released Tuesday.

Senior Billye Hollister (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) currently ranks 22nd in the nation with six victories and 85th in the country with a 1.94 earned run average.

Sophomore Jordan Crystal (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst (Monmouth)) is 41st in Division III in strikeouts per nine innings (10.3), while as a batter, he is the 22nd toughest hitter to strikeout (34.0) and 69th in batting average (0.441).

Classmate John Micklus (La Plata, Md./McDonough) is 10th in the country with 11.6 strikeouts per nine innings.

As a team, FSU ranks fourth with 8.9 strikeouts per nine innings, 57th with a 0.68 win/loss percentage, 63rd with .52 homeruns per game, 77th with 2.0 doubles per contest, 87th with 0.36 triples per game and 92nd in batting average (0.32).

FSU (17-9, 8-2 AMCC) returns to action on Saturday, April 15 when it hosts Lake Erie for a doubleheader at 1:00 pm.
