Baseball Ranked Third In NCAA Stats

FROSTBURG, Md. — The Frostburg State baseball team is ranked among the leaders in the NCAA Division III national statistics, released Tuesday afternoon.

The Bobcats rank third in the country in strikeouts per nine innings (8.9) and 54th in win/loss percentage (.686). Individually, FSU has three players ranked among the nation’s best.

Senior Billye Hollister (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) is 24th in NCAA Division III with eight wins and 59th with a 1.97 earned run average.

Sophomore John Micklus (La Plata, Md./McDonough) is 21st in the nation with 10.9 strikeouts per nine innings while classmate Jordan Crystal (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst (Monmouth)) is 29th with 10.5.

FSU is 24-11 overall and hosts the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Baseball Tournament on May 12-14.
