Baseball Season Opener at Shenandoah Cancelled

FROSTBURG, MD — The Frostburg State University baseball team's season opener against Shenandoah University scheduled for Wednesday at 4:30 pm in Winchester, Va., has been cancelled due to weather.

The Bobcats will now open the year this weekend at the Chowan Invitational in Murfreesboro, N.C. FSU will face Apprentice on Friday at 9:30 am before taking on Western Connecticut State at 2:30 pm. The Bobcats will then play Chowan on Saturday at 2:30 pm.

The tournament will conclude on Sunday with the third-place contest beginning at 10:30 am. The championship game will start at 1:30 pm.

Chowan and Frostburg State have combined to win all seven titles since the tournament's inception in 1996.

The Braves have captured five championships, while the Bobcats won back-to-back crowns in 1999 and 2000.
