Belt, Bouldin Lead Men's Track & Field at W&L Invite

LEXINGTON, VA — Senior Randy Belt (Upper Marlboro, Md./Patuxent) won the 400-meter intermediate hurdles and added a fifth-place finish in the 110-meter high hurdles, and junior Travis Bouldin (Greensboro, Md./North Caroline) added a pair of runner-up showings to help the Frostburg State men's track and field team place sixth at the Washington & Lee Invitational this past Saturday.

The Bobcats finished with 42 points, just behind DeSales and Bridgewater, who tied for fourth with 45 points. John Carroll won the men's team title with 118 points, while Susquehanna was second with 94.5. Centre placed third with 64 points.

Belt ran the 400-meter IM in 56.00 before posting a 17.02 in the 110-meter high hurdles.

Freshman Matt Morgan (Frostburg, Md./Beall) ran with a sore hamstring but managed to place seventh in the 400-meter dash in 52.26.

Sophomore Ron Lipscomb (Lonaconing, Md./Northern Garrett) was eighth in the 1,500-meter run in 4:13.37 and added an 11th-place showing in the 800-meter run in 2:03.57.

Freshmen Ed May (Bryantown, Md./LaPlata) and Sid Bittinger (Midland, Md./Westmar) finished ninth and tenth, respectively, in the 5,000-meter run. May posted a time of 16:35.25, while Bittinger ran the event in 16:41.36.

FSU's solid distance performances continued in the 10,000-meter run, where sophomore Mike Replogle (Union Bridge, Md./Francis Scott Key) was fourth in 34:16.32 and freshman Kevin Allgeier (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) was eighth in 36:25.54.

FSU was fifth in both the 4x100-meter (44.44) and 4x400-meter (3:30.40) relays.

In the long jump, Bouldin was second with a mark of 21-9 and senior Reggie Brown (Laurel, Md./Rockville) was seventh with a distance of 21-00.50.

Bouldin followed with a second-place finish in the triple jump (45-3.5), while freshman Andrew Hackett (Baltimore, Md./Mergenthaler) was right behind in third (44-5.5).

Frostburg State will compete in the adidas/Raleigh Relays to held March 28 & 29 at North Carolina State University.
