Bobcat Women Take Home AMCC Individual and Team Titles for Fourth Straight Year

Big Pool, Md. ... The Frostburg State women's cross country team continued its dominance of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference by capturing its fourth straight AMCC championship Saturday afternoon at Fort Frederick State Park.

Senior Megan McNew (White Hall, Md./North Harford) and sophomore Inga Olsen (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) tied for first in 20:19 to share AMCC Most Valuable Runner honors.

The Bobcats placed five runners in the top 10 and finished with 26 points to edge Penn State Behrend, which totaled 29 points. It was the closest finish in the AMCC's four-year history. Pitt-Bradford was third with 76 points.

Freshman Elizabeth Sauder (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) ran a 21:34 to finish sixth, while senior Sara DeBoer (Odenton, Md./Arundel) was seventh in 22:06.

Freshman Katherine Eads (West Point, Iowa/Central Lee) closed out the Bobcats' team scoring with a 10th-place finish in 22:28, and fellow freshman Christy May (Dunkirk, Md./Northern) rounded out the Bobcat squad with a time of 26:57 (18th overall).

Penn State Behrend's Lyndsey Boor, Deidre Garrity and Andrea Sanko finished in the Nos. 3-5 spots, respectively, to keep the Lions close.
