Bobcats Improve to 14-0 with Shutout of Bethany

Frostburg, Md. ... Sophomore Gene Cutter and freshman Jacob Cook each picked up singles wins and teamed for a No. 1 doubles victory as Frostburg State blanked Bethany (W.Va.), 9-0, on Wednesday at the Cordts Tennis Courts.

The Bobcats improved to 14-0 on the year and will close out the regular season at Villa Julie on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Cutter and Cook opened with an 8-0 win at the top tandem flight, and freshman Justin Stephens and junior Terence Killen followed with an 8-0 victory at the No. 2 spot.

In singles action, Cutter improved to 16-0 on the season with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1, while Cook posted a 6-2, 6-2 defeat at No. 2. Stephens also moved to 16-0 on the year with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the third flight, and Killen and senior Chip Boling each posted 6-0, 6-0 shutouts at the Nos. 4 and 5 spots, respectively.

The Bobcats also picked up wins by default at the No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles flights.
