Carter Named ECAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week

GIBSONIA, PA — Frostburg State sophomore Danielle Carter (Rockville, Md./Rockville) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women’s Soccer Mid-Atlantic Region Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Carter scored four goals to help the Bobcats go 2-0 last week and extend their winning streak to a season-high six matches.

She scored once in a 4-0 victory over La Roche as FSU clinched its second straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference regular-season title, and she recorded her third hat-trick of the year in a 3-1 win over Villa Julie.

Carter, who was also named the AMCC Player of the Week Monday, is the first AMCC women’s soccer player to earn ECAC weekly honors this season.

She currently leads the AMCC with 19 goals, and her 44 points rank second on the team and third in the league. Both totals are career high’s.
