Cross Country Teams Finish 12th at Salisbury Invite

Salisbury, Md. — Junior Mike Replogle (Union Bridge, Md./Francis Scott Key) paced the Frostburg State men’s cross country team to a 12th-place finish at the Salisbury University Tidewater Invitational Saturday morning.

Replogle ran the 8,000-meter course in 27:22 to finish 33rd overall and help FSU score 308 points in the 18-tem field.

Freshman Sid Bittinger (Midland, Md./Westmar) finished second for the Bobcats and 42nd overall with a posting of 27:39.

Fellow freshman Robert Wilson (Cumberland, Md./Fort Hill) was the third FSU runner to finish the race with a time of 28:41. Wilson was 87th overall.

Sophomores Jonathan Masse (Cumberland, Md./Fort Hill) and Ron Lipscomb (Avilton, Md./ Southern Garrett) rounded out the Bobcat scoring with 89th and 98th overall placings. Masse finished in 28:49 while Lipscomb crossed the finish line in 29:04.

Senior Inga Olsen (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) again led the Bobcat women, placing 58th overall in a time of 24:49. FSU scored 304 points in the 15-team field.

A pair of freshmen finished second and third for Frostburg State; Carolyn Kilkus (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery), with a time of 25:01, and Sarah Valenta (Frostburg, Md./Homeschool), with a 25:08 posting, finished 65th and 70th overall, respectively.

Juniors Beth Sauder (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) and Katy Eads (West Point, Iowa/ Central Lee) rounded out the Bobcat scoring with the 86th and 91st places. Sauder ran the 6,000-meter course in 25:36 while Eads finished in 25:43.

Division II Kutztown captured both team titles, winning the men's crown with 78 points and the women's championships with 77 points.

The Bobcat runners return to action October 5th at the Dickinson College Long-Short Course Invitational in Carlisle, Pa.
