Culbert Earns Pair of National Awards For Performance Against Montclair State

FROSTBURG, MD — Frostburg State University junior Kevin Culbert (Purcellville, Va./Loudoun Valley) has earned a pair of national weekly awards for his performance against Montclair State University last Sunday.

Culbert, a 6-5, 235-pound defensive end, was named the Don Hansen Football Gazette NCAA Division III Co-National Defensive Player of the Week and was also selected to the Team of the Week after recording 10 tackles, including four solo stops and 3.0 sacks for minus 26 yards.

He also forced two fumbles, recovering one, and blocked an extra-point attempt in a 27-3 loss to the Red Hawks.

Culbert spearheaded a Bobcat defense that allowed just 25 rushing yards on 30 attempts, 239 total yards and only nine first downs.
