Culbert Named ACFC Defensive Player of the Week

FROSTBURG, Md. — Frostburg State senior defensive end Kevin Culbert (Purcellville, Va./Loudoun Valley) was named the Atlantic Central Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday for his outstanding efforts in a 21-3 season-opening loss at Apprentice this past Saturday.

Culbert made 10 tackles, including six for losses of 22 yards and two sacks, forced a fumble and recovered that fumble in his first game back after missing the last seven contests of 2004 with a hand injury.

Culbert helped lead a defensive unit that held Apprentice to just 151 total yards on 65 plays — an average of 2.3 yards per play.

The Bobcats (0-1) return to action this Saturday when they host Montclair State starting at 1 pm.
