Cultural Events Series Brings Jungle Joe’s Wildlife Adventure to FSU
Part of Frostburg State University’s Cultural Event Series Special Events programming, Jungle Joe’s Wildlife Adventure is an eco-adventure featuring an interactive live animal show. It will be presented on Thursday, April 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center.

Jungle Joe, aka Joe Fortunato, a former police officer who now works as a zookeeper and wildlife educator, will bring 15 of the most popular exotic animals on loan from the Bucks County Zoo and Conservation Society in Warminster, Pa. The animals include the beautiful blue and gold macaw from South America; the eagle owl, the largest species of owl in the world; the fennec fox, the smallest fox in the world; the African serval cat; and the Burmese python, one of the largest snakes in the world and now an invasive species in Florida.

Jungle Joe’s Wildlife Adventure teaches children and adults about the fascinating diversity of exotic animals throughout the world. The program entertains as it addresses issues of environmental and wildlife preservation. Jungle Joe enlightens audiences by teaching respect and appreciation for unusual and amazing animals. He also shares the importance of recycling to protect the environment.

Jungle Joe’s Wildlife Adventure is affiliated with the Bucks County Zoo and Conservation Society and is a proud member of the Zoological Association of America as an educational facility – thanks to the sponsorship of world-renowned wildlife expert Jack Hanna. It is recognized as an institutional facility by the American Association of Zookeepers and is a proud member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

Tickets for Jungle Joe’s Wildlife Adventure are $15 for adults and $10 for those under 17. Corporate and group discount ticket rates are also available. Tickets may be ordered by calling 301-687-3137 or online at

The Cultural Events Series is supported by grants from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive. An agency of the Department of Business and Economic Development, MSAC provides financial support and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations, units of government, colleges and universities for arts activities.
