Frostburg State University Lecturer Dr. Mariana Miahi-Zoeter, left, receives the Outstanding Faculty Award from Dr. Shawn Golden-Llewellyn, FSU director of Counseling & Psychological Services, at the 2015-16 FSU Leadership Awards Reception.

Dr. Mariana Mihai-Zoeter, a lecturer in the Department of Music at Frostburg State University, was honored with the 2016 FSU Outstanding Faculty Member Award at the 2015-2016 FSU Leadership Awards Reception.

Mihai-Zoeter is described as a selfless person who fights for the success of her students. Others on campus have described her as passionate, determined, giving, dedicated and creative.

Mihai-Zoeter is an adjunct faculty member who teaches voice and opera and has performed as an opera singer all over the world, including Romania, Brazil and Washington, D.C. She shares her unique talents with her students and supports them in honing their own vocal abilities. Mihai-Zoeter is so committed to her students’ success that she has invested personal time and money into accompanying them throughout the U.S. for choral competitions – an investment well beyond what is required.
