Eleven Bobcats Selected to All-AMCC Cross Country Team

PITTSBURGH — After sweeping both the men's and women's titles at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships last Saturday, the Frostburg State cross country teams took home more hardware on Thursday as 11 runners were named to the All-AMCC Team.

Six Bobcat men earned all-conference honors, led by sophomore Mike Replogle (Francis Scott Key/Union Bridge, Md.), who placed second at the AMCC Championship meet in 28:40.

Freshman Ed May (La Plata/Bryantown, Md.) was named to the All-AMCC squad and was also voted the Men's Newcomer of the Year after finishing third in 28:41.

Freshman Sid Bittinger (Midland, Md./Westmar), sophomores Jonathan Masse (Fort Hill/Cumberland, Md.) and Ron Lipscomb (Northern Garrett/Avilton, Md.) and freshman Robert Wilson (Fort Hill/Cumberland, Md.) also earned All-AMCC honors by virtue of their top-10 finishes.

Bittinger was fourth in 28:43, Masse was sixth in 29:08, Lipscomb was seventh in 29:29 and Wilson was 10th in 29:59.

Five Bobcat women were selected to the All-AMCC squad. Freshman Sarah Valenta (Home School/Frostburg, Md.) led FSU with a fourth-place showing in 25:33, while freshman Carolyn Kilkus (Richard Montgomery/Rockville, Md.) was sixth in 26:06.

Junior Katy Eads (Central Lee/West Point, Iowa) placed seventh in 26:14, junior Beth Sauder (Southern Garrett/Oakland, Md.) was eighth in 26:15 and senior Inga Olsen (Catoctin/Thurmont, Md.) finished ninth in 26:28.

Bobcat head coach Randy Lowe was named both the Men's and Women's AMCC Coach of the Year after guiding the teams to their fifth titles in the last six seasons.

La Roche senior Andrew Musinguzi was named the Men's Runner of the Year after winning his third straight individual title, while Penn State Behrend's Jessica Sarver earned the Women's Runner of the Year award with her first-place showing.

FSU returns to action on Saturday, November 16 in the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional at Winter Park Place in Salisbury, Md.
