Faust Scored Twice to Lead Field Hockey Past Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, VA — Junior Kim Faust (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin) scored a pair of second-half goals to lead Frostburg State to a 3-1 win over host Bridgewater College Monday afternoon.

The Eagles took a 1-0 halftime lead on Tasha Chase's goal with 11:00 left in the first half before the Bobcats erupted for three goals after intermission.

Faust got FSU rolling, tying the game just 1:57 into the second half with an unassisted goal.

Freshman Joanna Morelli (Rising Sun, Md./Rising Sun) then put the Bobcats ahead for good when she found the net off an assist from senior Cindy Reese (Westminster, Md./Westminster) with 10:23 remaining in the game.

Faust then sealed the win with 23 seconds left with an assist from senior Katie Harrington (Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert).

Sophomore Jessica Moore (Bowie, Md./Culpeper, Va.) made two saves for the Bobcats, who outshot Bridgewater, 23-2 and held a 13-1 advantage in penalty corners.

The Bobcats improved to 5-7 and will host Hood College on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
