Field Hockey Blanked by Dickinson, 3-0

Carlisle, Pa. ... Dickinson College scored twice in a five-minute span of the first half en route to a 3-0 win over Frostburg State Saturday afternoon in Carlisle, Pa.

It was Dickinson's first win over the Bobcats in six meetings.

Dickinson (2-1) opened the scoring with 26:14 left in the first half on a goal by Kendra Shirley and took a 2-0 lead just 4:16 later when Caroline Gouin converted a pass from Katie Bean.

Bean capped the scoring for the Red Devils with 17:01 to play in the game. Dickinson outshot FSU, 15-7, and held a 9-2 advantage in penalty corners.

Bobcat sophomore Jessica Moore (Bowie, Md./Culpeper, Va.) stopped three shots in the loss.

Frostburg State (1-2) returns to action next Saturday when they visit Virginia Wesleyan for a 12:00 p.m. game.
