Field Hockey Blanked By Dickinson

CARLISLE, PA — Sophomore Emily Souder scored a goal and added an assist to lead host Dickinson to a 4-0 win over Frostburg State Saturday afternoon.

Dickinson (1-1) opened the scoring with 6:10 remaining in the first half when Souder fed Caroline Gouin, and senior Jess Sedgwick found the net with an assist from freshman Lauren Moag just under three minutes later to give the Red Devils a 2-0 lead at the break.

Gouin returned the favor in the second half as she assisted Souder for a goal with 23:36 left, and the hosts closed out the scoring when sophomore Jennifer Portillo scored with 4:54 remaining.

Bobcat freshman Kristin Cousin (South River/Edgewater, Md.) fell to 1-1 after making a pair of first-half saves.

Junior Jessica Moore (Culpeper (Va.)/Bowie, Md.) played the second half and stopped four shots.

Frostburg State, now 2-2 on the season, returns to action on Thursday when it visits Washington & Jefferson for a 7:00 contest.
