Field Hockey Defeats Virginia Wesleyan 3-0

Norfolk, Va. - The Frostburg State field hockey team defeated host Virginia Wesleyan, 3-0, Saturday afternoon in Virginia Beach.

Senior Kim Faust (Upper Dublin/Ft.Washington, Pa.) scored the first goal in the 17th minute before adding an assist to sophomore Britta Ricker (Middletown/Middletown, Md.) at 8:39.

Just over three minutes later, freshman Tawni Buck (Perryville/Perryville, Md.) found the net for the final goal of the day.

The Bobcats had nine shots on goal and seven penalty corners in the first half. In the second they had six shots on goal and five penalty corners.

Junior goalkeeper Jessica Moore (Culpeper/Bowie, Md.) made five saves on the day.

The Lady Blue Marlins had 11 shots and seven saves on the day.

The win raised Frostburg State's season record to 4-2. The Bobcats return to action on Sunday when they visit Christopher Newport University at 12 p.m.
