Field Hockey Dismantles Villa Julie, 5-1

FROSTBURG, MD — Frostburg State senior Kim Faust (Upper Dublin/Ft. Washington, Pa.) scored three goals to lead the Bobcats to a 5-1 win over visiting Villa Julie Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats got off to a slow start and played defensively with no score in the first half.

In the second half, Villa Julie freshman Morgan Feehery scored at 31:35 off an assist from sophomore Angela Brandenburg.

FSU decided to get agressive and Faust found the net at 23:59 off a penalty corner, evening the score at 1-1. Less than a minute later, freshman Tawni Buck (Perryville/Perryville, Md.) blasted the ball into the goal off another penalty corner.

With 14:23 remaining, Faust scored again, this time off an assist from junior Sarah Tipsword (McDonough/Pomfret, Md.). At the seven-minute mark, freshman Heidi Zook (Twin Valley/Elverson, Pa.) scored, notching the score to 4-1.

With 5:45 left to play, Faust found the net for the third time. She now has 20 on the season, just two shy of her single-season school record of 22 set in 2000.

The Bobcats, now 10-6, return to action on Sunday when they host No. 4 Salisbury at noon.
