Field Hockey Edged by Western Maryland in Overtime

WESTMINSTER, MD — Western Maryland sophomore Kristin Talarovich scored with 4:49 remaining in overtime to lift the host Green Terror to a 3-2 win over Frostburg State Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Katie Harrington (Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert) gave the Bobcats an early 1-0 lead by scoring just 1:30 into the game off an assist from junior Kim Faust (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin).

Western Maryland (6-0) pulled even on junior Tracy Kessler's goal at the 29:33 mark before Faust converted a penalty stroke just over five minutes later to give Frostburg State a 2-1 halftime lead.

The Green Terror tied the contest again when sophomore Kim Camponelli found the net with 20:32 left in regulation. Camponelli also assisted on Talarovich's game-winner.

Sophomore Jessica Moore (Bowie, Md./Culpeper (Va.)) made nine saves for Frostburg State.

The Bobcats (2-4) will visit Roanoke College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
