BALTIMORE, MD — After dropping two straight games, the Frostburg State field hockey team rebounded with a 2-1 win over the College of Notre Dame of Maryland Monday afternoon.

The Bobcats improved to 7-9 on the season, while Notre Dame falls to 6-6.

The Gators answered back with an unassisted goal from senior Kathy Baran in the 15th minute, tying the game 1-1.

Freshman Brittney Blystone (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) scored the game-winning goal with 16:48 left in the first half, and neither team could find the net in the second half.

FSU played the final 23 minutes of the game with only 10 players after one was ejected when she received a red card.

Junior goalie Kristin Cousin (Edgewater, Md./South River) had five saves in the game.

Frostburg State outshot the Gators 21-6 and held a 13-2 advantage in penalty corners.
