Field Hockey Falls to Roanoke

Frostburg, MDJunior Tawni Buck (Port Deposit,Md./Perryville) scored Frostburg State’s only two goals in a 3-2 loss to Roanoke College Sunday afternoon.

Liz Hudson and Beth Wheeler scored two early goals in the first half for the Maroons giving them a 2-0 lead.

Buck pulled the Bobcats even with a pair of goals three minutes apart late in the first half.

The winning goal for the Maroons came from freshman Ashley Chambers with 18 minutes left in the game.

Frostburg State had two penalty corners in the final 30 seconds, but could not convert.

Lindsey Paz made two saves in the win for Roanoke. Frostburg State junior Kristin Cousin (Edgewater, Md./South River) made a game-high nine saves in a losing effort.

Roanoke outshot Frostburg State 14-4 and held a 10-6 advantage in penalty corners.

Frostburg State is back in action Wednesday afternoon as it hosts McDaniel at 4:30 pm.
