Field Hockey Falls to Washington, 4-0

CHESTERTOWN, MD — Washington College sophomore forward Taneil Sisco scored a pair of first-half goals and junior Julie Phillips added two assists to lead the Shorewomen to a 4-0 victory over Frostburg State Sunday afternoon.

Sisco scored her first goal with 6:40 to play in the opening frame, when she scored off an assist from Phillips.

The Shorewomen then dodged a bullet with 44 seconds to go before halftime, stopping a penalty stroke off the stick of Bobcat freshman back Nikki Waltz (Westminster, Md./Westminster).

Sisco then scored her second goal of the game when she fired in a rebound during a penalty corner after time expired in the half.

Washington (1-1) added two more goals in the second half to pull away. Junior Megan Daily and senior Avery Coleman scored the insurance markers off feeds from Phillips and freshman Laura Scimeca, respectively.

Junior Christie Allebach made five saves in recording the first shutout of her collegiate career, while Frostburg State sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Moore (Bowie, Md./Culpeper, Va.) made 12 saves in the loss.

The Bobcats (1-1), who were outshot 27-10, return to action on Saturday when they visit Dickinson College for a noon contest.
