Field Hockey Loses 2-0 to Powerhouse Salisbury

FROSTBURG, MD — Salisbury University, currently ranked 4th in Division III, defeated FSU 2-0 Sunday afternoon.

At 30:32 in the first half, junior Lindsay Elliot opened scoring for Salisbury when she found the net off an assist from senior Jessica Manzone. In the second half, sophomore Erin Budd scored off an assist from sophomore Melissa Webster, notching the score to 2-0.

In the first half, the Bobcats were unable to contend with Salisbury's aggressive play and were on the defense the majority of the half. Salisbury had 8 penalty corners.

In the second half, Salisbury had 6 penalty corners, but the Bobcats were much more aggressive and also had six penalty corners.

Salisbury outshot Frostburg State 27-6. Junior goalie Jessica Moore (Culpeper/Bowie, Md.) had seven saves on the day.

The Bobcats, now 10-7, return to action on Thursday when they visit York College at 4:30p.m.
