Field Hockey Loses Game To Virginia Wesleyan

Frostburg, MD — Frostburg State could not get on the scoreboard, while visiting Virginia Wesleyan netted a goal in each half to win, 2-0 Sunday afternoon.

The Bobcats (2-5) had their best chance to score in the first half as they had five shots, but Marlin goalie Margie Baker made three saves to keep them off of the scoreboard. Kimmy Bausch scored a goal for Virginia Wesleyan in the 19th minute on a pass from Cara Byrd, which was all the scoring they would need in the game.

Sophomore goalie Kristin Cousin (South River/Edgewater, Md.) was superb in goal for FSU making eight saves on the day.

Frostburg State returns to action on September 16th when it travels to McDaniel College at 4:00 p.m.
