Field Hockey Loses Tough Match to Dickinson

Frostburg, MD — Frostburg State played tough defense on the day but could not get a goal past visiting Dickinson College Saturday afternoon as it took a hard-fought 1-0 loss.

Dickinson scored the only goal of the day early in the first-half as junior Sarah Hyslop got the tally in the 11th minute. Dickinson continued pressuring the Bobcats during the first period getting 13 shots, but goalie Kristin Cousin (South River/Edgewater, Md.) was stellar making eight saves in the first half and not allowing another goal.

Frostburg State (2-4) tried in the second-half to get the tying goal but was unsuccessful, as it was outshot 27-4 on the day. Cousin made 12 saves total on the day, while sophomore Tawni Buck (Perryville/Port Deposit, Md.) led the Bobcat offense with 3 shots on the day.

Frostburg State returns to action on Sunday when it hosts Virginia Wesleyan at 12:00 p.m.
